Join us

Thinking of joining us?

If you think Ashton Swimming Club is for you (or your child) then come along on a club night at 7:35pm. You will first meet our membership team at the registration table (located in the 25m pool viewing area). From here you or your child will be introduced to our Team Manager, Mark Clough who will give you a trial, so make sure you bring your kit with you.

Membership

There is an annual membership fee of £40, this includes membership to AULSC, insurance and Swim England membership.

Training fees

Fees of £3 per swimmer are paid at every training session.

Galas

The club holds five club galas per year, these are opportunities for all members to compete within the club. Awards are presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at our annual presentation evening.

The club also takes parts in the Inter Town Friendly League and numerous competitions organised by Bolton Central Manchester Swimming & Water Polo Association. (BCM S&WPA)

In the average year we compete in 15 and 20 galas plus the club galas mentioned above. Swimmers of any age are able to race and challenge themselves during the year in our club galas and if selected, can swim in the Inter Town Friendly League with sometimes more than 70 swimmers in the squad!

Supporting the club and away galas

We are very proud of the excellent support we have for our swimmers at both home and away galas. We are one of the only clubs to provide you with a team sheet for our galas, detailing names of all swimmers and the events they are competing in. You will get to know all the swimmers who are competing for the club and your encouragement is vital and important to swimmers and the team overall.

We also supply coach travel for a number of longer distance away galas, all we ask for is a £3 contribution towards the cost per person. All swimmers are encouraged to travel by coach whenever possible (unless impractical to do so of course) which further encourages our team spirit. Spare seats on the coach will be given to coaches, volunteers and parents who cannot make their own way.
